Smith Township woman charged in crash that injured 2

Smith Township police charged a woman Wednesday in connection with a two-vehicle crash last month.

Alyson Marie Galentine, 37, of Smith Township, faces felony charges of aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called at about 10:15 p.m. Sept. 6 to the 100 block of Bulger Candor Road. Police said Galentine was driving south and crossed the double yellow line and hit another vehicle head-on.

Sue Reilly, the driver of the northbound vehicle, was not injured, but two passengers were. Lisa Hoffman and Mary Miller were transported to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment, according to police.

Galentine agreed to a blood draw at Weirton (W.Va.) Medical Center. According to the criminal complaint, her blood-alcohol level was 0.247%, above the legal limit of 0.08%.

She also faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and summary traffic violations.

Galentine has not been arraigned on the charges, per online court documents.
