SOMERSET
DUI crash: Ryan Michael Holveck, 27, of Belle Vernon, was charged by state police Saturday with assault of a law enforcement officer, accidents involving damage to attended vehicles, driving under the influence, simple assault and several traffic violations. According to the criminal complaint, at about 4:15 p.m. Saturday police were called to a vehicle accident at the 29 mile marker of Interstate 70 West. Police said Holveck’s vehicle was on its roof. He is accused of fleeing the scene following the accident. According to the complaint, troopers found Holveck in the 50 block of Carlton Drive. Holveck is accused of biting a state trooper while being taken into custody. Holveck was arraigned Sunday afternoon before District Judge Gary Havelka, who sent him to the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Assault alleged: Trinity McKinney, 19, of Chartiers Township, and Travon Valperga, 19, of Washington, were each charged by Washington police Sunday with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and simple assault. According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the 100 block of Church Street shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday. A woman reported a group of three females assaulted her by punching her, throwing her to the ground and putting their feet on her head. During the attack Valperga allegedly threatened to get a gun and shoot the alleged victim, according to the criminal complaint. Police arrested McKinney and Valperga at the scene, while the other two female suspects were not identified. McKinney was found to be in possession of about 9 grams of cocaine and cash, which Valperga allegedly admitted to giving her prior to the arrest, court paperwork states. Valperga also faces a charge of terroristic threats. McKinney and Valperga were arraigned Sunday morning before District Judge Gary Havelka, who sent them to the Washington County jail on $30,000 bond.
