CANONSBURG
Shot fired into home: Elizabeth Spotti, 43, of Canonsburg, was charged Tuesday by Canonsburg police with discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. According to the criminal complaint, police were called to Spotti’s home in the 1300 block of Lucia Drive at about 3:50 a.m. Sept. 6 after she allegedly fired a gun in the air. While Spotti was initially only charged with a misdemeanor of recklessly endangering another person, police later found a bullet lodged into a pillar on the front porch of a neighboring home. At Spotti’s scheduled preliminary hearing Tuesday morning, police withdrew the initial case and filed a new set of charges, including a felony of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure. District Judge James Saieva held the charges for court. Spotti is free on $25,000 unsecured bond.
NORTH STRABANE
Assault alleged: Christopher Thomas Leasher, 41, of East Pittsburgh, was charged Tuesday by North Strabane Township police with simple assault and reckless endangerment. According to the criminal complaint, police were called Tuesday morning to the 100 block of Chambers Lane for a reported domestic situation. Leasher is accused of stealing his ex-girlfriend’s cat. Charging documents state that Leasher threatened the woman’s life and pushed her to the ground. Leasher was arraigned at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday before District Judge John Bruner, who sent him to the Washington County jail on $250,000 bond.
