North Strabane to seek storm-water grants
North Strabane Township will seek grants to improve storm-water systems on two roads.
The grants were discussed at the board of supervisors non-legislative meeting Tuesday, and will likely be voted on at its meeting Tuesday.
The township plans to seek small water and sewer grants through the state Department of Community and Economic Development. Those grants will be to improve McGregor Drive and Curry Avenue.
Township Manager Andy Walz said supervisors will be voting on applying for the grants.
“We wouldn’t anticipate hearing if we received the money for at least a year,” Walz said.
According to Walz, the McGregor Drive project is expected to cost $49,217 while the Curry Avenue project is estimated at $250,645.
Walz said the higher price tag for Curry Avenue is because the project will include repaving the road.
