DUNBAR TOWNSHIP

Aggravated assault: Angela Weimer, 20, of Elizabeth was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault. According to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday, Danielle Bowers, another resident of a house on Hutosky Road, spit in Weimer’s face. Police said Weimer then pepper-sprayed Bowers and punched her in the face repeatedly. Fayette EMS transported Bowers to WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital for treatment. Weimer was lodged in the Fayette County jail after being unable to pay $20,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing was set for Aug. 19.

UNIONTOWN

Aggravated assault: Asa Gillen, 35, of Connellsville was charged with aggravated assault, robbery, theft of movable property, receiving stolen property and assault. Gillen allegedly stabbed his sister-in-law, Rosetta Gillen, in the head with a metal object after she asked for her car keys back, then drove off in her car. Rosetta Gillen received a cut on her head, requiring her to seek medical assistance, the complaint said. No preliminary hearing had been set as of Tuesday afternoon.
