A miniature golf outing is one of the fundraisers that helps to support the Olivia Scott Foundation.

The Olivia Scott Foundation is holding its 10th annual Olivia’s Mini-Golf Open in the Washington area later this month.

The event begins at noon Aug. 23 at the American Legion at 168 Park Ave. in North Franklin and then will move to different mini-golf holes at various businesses in the Washington area. A team of four costs $100, and a designated driver and team captain must be named before the competition.

The fundraiser benefits the foundation named after Olivia Scott, who was a junior at McGuffey High School when she died from liver cancer in June 2009. The foundation assists families in life-threatening or life-altering situations, helps organizations that promote sportsmanship and raises money for various scholarship funds for local students.

To sign up for the mini-golf tournament, contact Marc Scott by email at mascott10@verizon.net or call 724-255-6437. More information can also be found by going to the Olivia Scott Foundation’s page on Facebook.
