Donora man charged for allegedly assaulting juvenile

Donora police arrested a man Wednesday morning after he was accused of choking a 14-year-old.

Andrew Thomas Herron, 38, of Donora, faces felony charges of strangulation, unlawful restraint and a misdemeanor of simple assault.

According to the criminal complaint, at about 12:20 a.m. Wednesday a 14-year-old boy reported the assault to police.

The alleged victim told officers he had just come from Herron’s home in the 400 block of Short Street.

Charging documents state that Herron put the teenager in a chokehold, restricting his breathing.

Herron was arraigned Wednesday morning before District Judge James Saieva, who sent him to the Washington County jail on $25,000.
