Donora man convicted on gun charge

A Donora man was convicted in federal court Thursday on a charge of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
A jury found Tre Robert Goins, 31, guilty after a day-and-half-long trial. According to the Department of Justice, on May 24, 2024, Goins fled from a traffic stop initiated by the City of Duquesne Police Department.
Goins led officers on a chase that exceeded speeds of 100 mph and totaled his vehicle. According to the DOJ, investigators found fentanyl, cocaine and a stolen firearm in his vehicle.
Goins will be sentenced on Oct. 22.
