PennWest to hold commencement

Pennsylvania Western University will have simultaneous commencement ceremonies at 10 a.m. Saturday at its three campuses in California, Clarion and Edinboro.

Nearly 900 students from the three campuses and online will graduate, although not all of them have chosen to participate in the ceremonies.

The ceremonies will be livestreamed at www.pennwest.edu/about/events/commencement/.

President Jon Anderson will deliver greetings and confer degrees at the California campus.

Dr. Robert Skwarecki, professor in the department of communication sciences and disorders, will lead the academic procession.

Alexis Steenburg, of Coal Township, will deliver the student address. Steenburg is earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a concentration in electrical engineering technology, and a minor in honors interdisciplinary studies.

Barbara Logue, member of the PennWest Council of Trustees, and A. Tereasa Rerko, president of the California Alumni Association, also will address the graduates.
