ICE agents detain man outside of Fayette County Courthouse

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained a man as he headed into the Fayette County Courthouse on Wednesday.
“We were not aware they were coming,” said Deputy Sheriff James Lee. “They are federal, they don’t have to tell us.”
Marco Antonio Gomez, 28, was supposed to go before a judge to be admitted to a pretrial diversionary program for first-time offenders for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the court records. His court appearance was scheduled for 1:30 p.m., and his online criminal docket lists his municipality of residence as Connellsville.
Video from outside of the courthouse shows two ICE agents get out of a black Ford SUV outside the courthouse and approach Gomez who was with two other women. Moments later, two more agents from a similar style vehicle approach Gomez.
The video does not have audio, but it does appear in the nearly 3 minutes of the interaction that Gomez is cooperative. Before he is handcuffed and escorted to the vehicle, the video shows him hugging one of the women.
According to court documents, the DUI Gomez was charged with occurred on April 13.
Lee said he believes Gomez is the only person that has been picked up by ICE.
