Phillips announcing candidacy for Washington County controller

Pat Phillips, a lifelong resident of Washington County, has announced his candidacy for Washington County controller in the Republican primary this May.
A resident of Canonsburg, Phillips brings over 30 years of experience in banking, finance, regulatory compliance and auditing, having worked for three Fortune 500 companies during his career. He is also a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College.
Phillips said he is a firm believer in business continuity, personal and team integrity, ethics and the ability to work through inter- and intra-departmental issues and deficiencies.
“Many county offices have seen improvements in recent years; this needs to continue throughout all the row offices. My goal is to ensure that these offices and levels keep moving in an upward direction,” Phillips said of the reason he decided to run for office.
“I will uphold business ethics, provide a safe work environment, maintain moral standards, improve efficiencies and promote open communication,” he added. “My business background, proven communication skills and strong ethics will make this office run efficiently as we lead those involved with the Controllership of Washington County by following business standards to provide accurate and sensible results.”
Phillips said his ability to work with others will help make Washington County a place where individuals and families are proud of the people they voted for.
“I promise that all offices will comply with the required standards and efficiently work within budgetary and compliance guidelines, all while keeping taxpayers’ bottom line salient.”
Phillips shared his vision with supporters during an announcement event held on Feb. 1.
