Acting Washington County controller Sheatler running for position in Republican primary
Current Washington County Controller Heather Sheatler, a lifelong county resident and proven fiscal conservative, has announced her candidacy for the Republican nomination in the upcoming May primary election.
With nearly 22 years of dedicated service in the controller’s office, Sheatler brings a wealth of experience and an unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility.
Since stepping into the role in October, her No. 1 focus has been to protect county taxpayers. Sheatler has focused on maintaining diligence, transparency and integrity in the county’s financial operations, a mission she pledges to continue if elected.
“As someone who has spent my entire career serving the taxpayers of Washington County, I am excited to bring my proven leadership and dedication to this role in the years ahead,” Sheatler said. “My priority has always been to protect public resources and ensure that taxpayer dollars are managed with accountability and care.”
Sheatler has built her career on fiscally conservative principles and a steadfast focus on serving the community over political interests. She looks forward to working with her experienced staff to continue upholding these values and delivering sound financial management for the county.
“I am running for Controller to continue the work I’ve devoted my life to – serving Washington County residents with integrity, transparency, and the highest level of professionalism,” she said.
Sheatler said her leadership will emphasize safeguarding public resources, promoting financial accountability and ensuring that the needs of Washington County residents remain her top priority.
