It’s a traditional sight in Canonsburg at this time of the year – chairs lining Pike Street, placed there by spectators who want to reserve their viewing space for the Fourth of July Parade. The 62nd annual parade steps off at 10 a.m. and runs from the McDonald’s on Bobby Vinton Boulevard to the Shop ‘N’ Save on West Pike Street. Fourth festivities will get underway this evening at 6 with the second annual Canonsburg Hot Dog Festival at the Midtown Lot. That will be followed by a full day of activities Friday, beginning with the Whiskey Rebellion 5K run at 7:30 a.m. and the parade. Activities at Town Park will run from noon to 6 p.m., and include free admission to Town Park Pool, face painting and caricatures. Festivities conclude with fireworks at dusk Friday at Canon-McMillan Stadium.
