Monongahela police arrest man in break-in, officer assault
Monongahela police arrested a man early Friday morning after he was accused of breaking into an apartment and assaulting an officer
Tyreik Quinton Tyree, 25, of Goodyear, Ariz., faces felony charges of aggravated assault, criminal trespass, and misdemeanors of terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called at about 12:52 a.m. Friday to an apartment in the 100 block of West Main Street. Dalton Selinger told police that Tyree pushed his way into the apartment armed with a knife and attempted to strike him. Selinger was able to push Tyree out and lock the door.
Charging documents state that Tyree kicked an officer in the leg as police attempted to place him in a police cruiser.
Tyree was arraigned Friday morning before District Judge Michael Manfredi, who sent him to the Washington County jail on $125,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. July 16.
