Two Fayette County residents were arrested and a deputy injured after officers responded to a report of suspected drug activity in Dunkard Township Friday night.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office and district attorney’s office began a joint investigation after residents complained of an RV drawing a suspicious increase in visits by drivers and pedestrians, who came and went quickly, according to a Facebook post by the district attorney’s office.

The RV’s resident, Gabrielle Lowry, 28, of Uledi, was wanted for a probation violation in Fayette County and had multiple outstanding bench warrants for her arrest, the district attorney’s office said. While arresting her, investigators also spotted a table filled with what appeared to be a variety of drugs and drug paraphernalia, the post said.

After Lowry had been led to a vehicle, another occupant of the RV, Michael Lee Miller, 25, of Uniontown, fled on foot. A deputy was injured during the ensuing pursuit, according to the post.

State police and Cumberland Township police were called to help locate the suspect. Cumberland officers found a person matching the description nearby wearing one sandal, matching one lost during the chase.

After initially giving a fake name to investigators, Miller was identified by detectives, who also determined he had outstanding warrants for failing to appear, one in Fayette for a drug-related case, and one in West Virginia’s Monongalia County for a burglary charge.

After obtaining a search warrant, the district attorney’s office said, detectives found a variety of possible drug items – various pills, suspected crack cocaine, suspected glassine bags of heroin/fentanyl – as well as digital scales and packaging materials. They also recovered a pistol they believed to be stolen.

Lowry and Miller are lodged at the Greene County jail awaiting extradition. The investigation is ongoing, the district attorney’s office said.

No charges had been filed against Lowry and Miller as of Monday afternoon. Officials anticipate filing charges after evidence seized from the RV is analyzed.

The injured deputy was seeking medical treatment Sunday. Messages left with the district attorney and sheriff’s offices were not returned Monday.
