A mobile home in Bentleyville caught fire Sunday afternoon after it was struck by lightning.

According to Bentleyville Fire-Rescue, crews were called at about 2:23 p.m. to the 300 block of Beallsville Road for a fire. Assistant Fire Chief Dominic Sicchitano said it was a newly built home, and there was no one inside.

Crews worked for about an hour-and-a-half to extinguish the fire.

The state police fire marshal is investigating, but the lightning strike is believed to be the origin of the fire, according to the fire department.

No injuries were reported. Also responding were fire departments from Charleroi, Ellsworth, Fallowfield, North Strabane and Cokeburg.
