Holbrook man dies in crash

A Holbrook man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Whiteley Township after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
James Hinds’ vehicle crossed the center line around 12:52 p.m. while traveling northbound on Route 19, the Greene County coroner’s office said in a release. The crash occurred just south of the intersection with Polecat Hollow Road.
Hinds, 63, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:53 p.m., said Chief Deputy Coroner Marty Yoskovich.
Witnesses said Hinds was “driving perfectly fine” immediately before the crash, said state police Trooper Kalee Barnhart. Speed did not appear to be a factor.
Barnhart said an autopsy had been scheduled for Wednesday.
