PAWC holding open houses for waterline extension projects in Washington County
Pennsylvania American Water is holding two open houses this month to explain recent waterline expansion projects in Washington County and how people can apply for service or install customer-owned service lines.
The Avella Road waterline extension installed six miles of eight-inch ductile iron waterline along Route 50 in Cross Creek, Independence and Mt. Pleasant townships. The new line will serve Avella School and potentially 43 new customer connections, while also adding 20 fire hydrants to support the community.
The other project is the Old Steubenville Pike and Campbell Road waterline extension that includes nearly three miles of four, six, and eight-inch ductile iron waterlines and three fire hydrants, providing service to 17 potential new customers in Robinson and Smith townships.
The first open house for Robinson and Smith township residents is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Robinson Township Municipal Building, 8400 Noblestown Road, near McDonald. The second open house for Cross Creek, Independence and Mt. Pleasant township residents is scheduled for July 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bull Pen Rustic Inn, at 301 County Park Road near Avella.
The two water main extension projects were supported by more than $15 million in PENNVEST loans.
