Route 40 reopens after fatal crash
A stretch of Route 40 has reopened after closing as a result of a two-vehicle crash that killed one person Tuesday morning.
According to a Washington County 911 supervisor, the crash occurred at about 5:10 a.m. near Route 40’s intersection with Valleyview Road.
One person was reported dead at the scene, and another was taken by helicopter to an unspecified hospital.
Route 40 was closed between Leatherman Bridge Road and Route 917 until about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday
