A dozen students from Santa Clara University in California spent Wednesday at Washington Park cleaning up litter, planting saplings into the soil and wrapping protective coverings around trees to stop deer from nibbling them. The students traveled from the Jesuit university in the Bay Area during their spring break this week to perform various volunteer projects, including this one with WashPa Outdoors in the park.
