Investigators identify person of interest in Rostraver homicide

The Westmoreland County district attorney’s office announced Wednesday that a person of interest in the murder of a woman last month is in custody.
On April 11, Jennah Marie Seibert, 24, was found shot to death inside her home at 400 Lenity School Road in Rostraver Township.
A joint statement from the office of the district attorney and Rostraver police indicated that investigators have identified a person of interest, who is currently in custody on unrelated charges.
“Law enforcement from the local, county, state and federal level have continued to extensively investigate this case from all angles. Over the last several weeks, investigators have collected evidence, conducted hundreds of interviews and relentlessly pursued each and every lead that unfolded,” the statement reads.
Investigators did not identify the person of interest. In the early days of the investigation, police had released still photos from a surveillance video of a man at a Monongahela convenience store.
Melanie Jones, spokesperson for the Westmoreland County district attorney, clarified the man from the video is the person of interest currently in custody.
Police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
Bryan J. Murray, Seibert’s fiance, called police after finding her body in bed, covered in blood.
The couple’s SUV had also been taken from the residence, and was later recovered by investigators in Monongahela.
As of Wednesday afternoon, charges had not been filed in the case.
