A West Finley Township man was charged with aggravated assault after state police said he attacked two men outside Washington Crown Center mall in North Franklin and then allegedly pointed a handgun at them.

Police said Johnny Leroy Pierson Jr. went to the mall about 6 p.m. Monday for a custody exchange with his ex-wife and two men when an argument began.

Pierson is accused of attacking the two men and then pulling out a handgun and pointing it at them before the woman grabbed his arms to force him to bring down the weapon. Pierson then left the scene, according to court documents.

Police charged Pierson, 53, with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned Monday night by District Judge Michael Manfredi and released on $25,000 unsecured bond.
