Washington school board candidates forum planned
The students of Washington High School, in collaboration with the League of Women Voters of Washington County, are hosting the Washington School District Board Candidates Forum at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Washington Junior Senior High School LGI, Allison Avenue, Washington.
The public is invited to join members of the school’s Student Life Group as they moderate the forum and question school board candidates on district issues.
The event is part of a new program launched this fall by the League of Women Voters of Washington County. League volunteers working with faculty advisers mentored students to plan and host the forums. The program is a way of highlighting the importance of school boards and the impact of their decisions, while educating and involving students in local government.
A reception will follow afterward.
