Teenage boy injured in dirt bike crash in Fairchance

A 13-year-old boy was severely injured over the weekend when the dirt bike he was riding through the streets of Fairchance struck two vehicles, and he was thrown from his bike.
The Uniontown-area boy was riding on North Morgantown Street about 8:30 p.m. Sunday when his dirt bike collided with a pickup truck at West Elm Street near the borough’s municipal boundary with Georges Township, state police said.
The boy was thrown from his dirt bike and hit the driver’s side window of the truck before hitting the front windshield of another car stopped at the intersection.
The teen suffered severe injuries and was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., police said. His identity and current condition were not released by police.
None of the four occupants in the pickup truck – including two children – was injured, nor was the driver of the car that was stopped at the intersection.
State police troopers in Uniontown are investigating the crash, and no charges are expected to be filed against the other motorists.
