Even though there was a bit of rain and the skies remained somewhat overcast, there was still a crowd at Washington Park Saturday enjoying Arts in the Park. DeAnna Martin, parks director, said this was the third year for the event.

“(Saturday) was an immersive day of arts,” Martin said. “Everything is free for the kiddos. They have a passport that they take around with them and get stamped. They turn that in for free art supplies at the end. I was nervous about people showing up because people get nervous about the rain. We grow a little bit every year.”

Arts in the Park was done in conjunction with WQED.

“We have very great partnerships with the organizations that are here,” said Denice Pazuchanics, learning neighborhood manager south for WQED, which includes Washington, Fayette and Greene counties. “When DeAnna came up with this idea to bring art to the park, we thought it was a great idea, and we wanted to get on board.”
