South Main Street in Washington is closed for the next two weeks while crews relocate waterlines near the intersection with Park Avenue ahead of the Catfish Creek box culvert bridge replacement project slated to begin in the spring.

Crews from Golden Triangle Construction began working Monday in the area and excavators could be seen digging holes into the roadway to access Pennsylvania American Water’s pipelines as they prepared to relocate them.

After the bulk of the work is complete over the next two weeks, there will be single-lane closures on South Main Street as crews finish construction.
