Judson Wiley & Sons expanding

Judson Wiley & Sons, Inc. in Washington is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year and now is undergoing an expansion.
The company purchased the old Pizza on Main property at 374 South Main St. in July for $310,000 and is using it for its business.
“It’s going to be a continuation of our yard here at Judson Wiley & Sons,” said Terri Wiley-Rhodes, an owner of the company at 404 South Main St. “No buildings will be erected. We’re planning to put a nice-looking fence around it. We have our trucks parked there already because we were renting the property for years. We’ll find a need for it, that’s for sure.”
Fourth-generation family members, Terri currently owns the business with her sister, Debbie. A third sister, Melissa Nicolella, is an owner as well, but is more of a silent partner, Terri said.
Judson Wiley & Sons is a ready-mix concrete business that has been in operation in the city since 1905. The company has been at its current location since the early 1920s and took over the old Washington Waynesburg Railroad Station for storage in the 1960s.
Terri Wiley-Rhodes said the building that housed Pizza on Main should be completely torn down in about a week.
“Then, we’ll have a nice, smooth surface and we’ll erect the fencing area,” she said. “We want to get it done before winter.”
