Monongahela man accused of sexually assaulting girls
A Monongahela man is facing numerous child sex charges after he was accused of fondling or sexually assaulting three girls on multiple occasions several years ago.
James Brian Faust Jr., 53, was charged with numerous felony counts Thursday by Monongahela police, who said the ongoing assaults happened to the girls on separate occasions.
Faust is accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with a girl beginning in 2019 when she was 9 years old and he was in his late 40s, according to court documents. Police said Faust had sexual intercourse with the girl on multiple occasions from 2019 until 2023 at several locations, including a Monongahela home, an apartment, a residence near Finleyville and in the parking lot of a Union Township bar on Route 88.
Police said he also fondled another girl on multiple occasions beginning in 2021 when she was 11 and continuing through 2023. Police said Faust fondled a 14-year-old girl in 2017, but she was able to stop him before it advanced.
Faust is charged in three separate cases with felony counts of child rape, three counts of indecent assault of a person under 13, two counts each of aggravated indecent assault of a child, child endangerment and corruption of minors, along with one misdemeanor charge of criminal attempt of indecent assault of a child under 16.
He was arraigned Thursday night by District Judge Kelly Stewart and taken to the Washington County jail on $250,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 8 at 10:45 a.m. No attorney was listed for Faust in online court records as of Friday afternoon.
