The Martha Washington Garden Club will meet at noon April 21 at the Laboratory Presbyterian Church, 23 Manse St., Washington. Dan Sutter from the Game Commission will discuss, “The bear necessities'” in Pennsylvania: why are we seeing more bears in our backyards? “Dancing at the Firehall” will be held at Center Township Volunteer Fire Department in Rogersville on Saturday, April 25, from 7 to 10 p.m. Dances will include waltzes, polkas, line dancing and square dancing. Light refreshments will be available for purchase. The event benefits the Center Twp VFD Auxiliary. Cost is $12 per couple, $7 for individuals, $5 for ages 12-18, and free for children under 12.
The Hickory Lions Club will host its annual Spring Fling from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Hickory Volunteer Fire Department, 106 Main St., Hickory. The event will include a spaghetti dinner and dance featuring music by Hug McKinney and the Embracers. Tickets are $30 per person and include a spaghetti dinner (gluten-free pasta is available), drinks (beer, wine, soda and water), music, and door prizes.
