Peters Township School District makes administrative changes
Peters Township School District has made a series of changes to its lineup of administrators.
The district’s assistant superintendent, Dr. Michael Fisher, will become deputy superintendent as of July 1. He will be replacing Dr. Jennifer Murphy, who will become the district’s superintendent that day. Murphy is replacing Dr. Jeannine French, who announced her retirement last year.
The district’s board of school directors approved the changes at Monday’s meeting.
Previously a principal at Pleasant Valley Elementary School and a member of the district’s administrative team for the last 10 years, Fisher will continue focusing on curriculum for grades K-5, oversee assessment and safety and security efforts.
The board also named Adam Sikorski assistant to the superintendent for curriculum and instruction. For the last 12 years, Sikorski has been the principal of Peters Township Middle School. Sikorski also teaches graduate level courses in educational administration and principal certification at Point Park University. Before coming to Peters Township, he spent 10 years in the Pittsburgh Public School District in a variety of roles, ranging from teacher to principal.
Murphy said, “Our leadership team – from principals to central office under Dr. French – has been instrumental in driving the success we’ve seen across our schools, and I’m proud to begin my tenure as superintendent with Dr. Fisher and Mr. Sikorski in these roles. Both bring a deep understanding of our district, a strong commitment to student achievement, and proven leadership that will help us continue to move Peters Township forward.”
