Downtown Washington welcomes ‘Da Chop Shop’
Barbershop holds grand opening
Longtime local barber Donnie Knupp is hoping his new North Main Street location, affectionately known as “Da Chop Shop,” will grow into a pillar of the Washington community.
He unveiled the new barbershop at a public ribbon cutting on Wednesday afternoon.
Knupp, 38, has worked at shops across his hometown for 18 years, specializing in fades and straight razor shaves.
Prices for a men’s haircut at his 80 N. Washington St. location start at $30, with discounts available for veterans, students and children.
Knupp said he enjoys making conversation with his clients and creating a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere.
“I just like cleaning people up, making them feel good about themselves,” Knupp said, “A good shop can be a pillar of the community if used in the right way.”
Da Chop Shop is open for walk in and advance appointments from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with more information available online at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575415856128.
