Canonsburg to host Jeep Meet Up
Canonsburg will be inundated with a range of colorful cubic vehicles and their owners this weekend as the Downtown Merchants Association hosts a Jeep Meet Up for charity.
The event, which is a combination car show and social gathering, will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday in downtown Canonsburg, raising money for Breakthrough T1D, a nonprofit supporting Type 1 Diabetes research.
According to Shabby Chic Nail Boutique Owner and Downtown Merchants Association Member Darci Scarff, who organized the event, the meet-up is about way more than the cars themselves.
“When I was asked what I wanted for my birthday this year, my answer was simple. I wanted to have a Jeep event in Canonsburg,” Scarff said. “This year, I wanted to give instead of receive, I wanted to create something that brings people together, brings happiness to our community and gives people a reason to come to downtown Canonsburg.”
According to Scarff, the Jeep Meet Up will, hopefully, drive attendees to explore the variety of downtown small businesses during and after the event.
“There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing an idea come together and knowing that it might make someone else smile; that’s the kind of birthday gift that means the most to me,” she said.
The family-friendly event will also feature local craft vendors, Duck Hunt bingo with prize and limited free parking for attendees.
