South Strabane police to host charity softball game
The South Strabane Township Police Department will hold its sixth annual charity softball game this weekend, with proceeds dedicated to supporting a Washington County family during a health crisis.
The event will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at the South Strabane Community Park at 750 Floral Hill Drive, with food truck concessions and live music provided by DJ Suge Shane, according to a release from the department.
Children will be able to participate in a tug-of-war contest between the fourth and fifth innings.
Proceeds from the game will help the Toth family and their son Michael’s ongoing battle with leukemia.
An online fundraiser from the family has generated over $4,000 of a $6,500 goal.
“Every donation, no matter the amount, will help ease that burden and allow them to focus on what matters most – Michael’s health and recovery,” according to the fundraiser.
