Buffalo Township woman accused of assaulting police officers
Greene Washington Regional Police Department arrested a woman accused of assaulting police officers Tuesday.
Jewely Ann Strohecker, 20, of Buffalo Township, faces a felony charge of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor of terroristic threats.
According to the criminal complaint, at about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to the Motel 6 at 1385 W. Chestnut St., Canton Township, after a woman reported a man was threatening her with a knife.
Police located the man and confiscated a Taser in his possession. Court records indicate the man has not been charged with a crime. According to the complaint, Strohecker was staying in the same room as the man.
Charging documents state that Strohecker grabbed an officer’s vest and was taken into custody. Strohecker is accused of shoving and kicking police officers while they placed her in handcuffs.
According to the complaint, Strohecker also made verbal threats toward police.
District Judge Charles Tenny arraigned Strohecker Tuesday evening, and sent her to the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
