Broc Sleek has been appointed the new president and chief executive officer for CHROME Federal Credit Union, effective Feb. 2.
Sleek succeeds Robert Flanyak, who will in April after 10 years of leading the company.
“Broc brings an exceptional blend of strategic insight, operational experience, and heart for our community,” said Robert Greek, board chairman. “His leadership in fintech and lending, combined with his long-standing connection to CHROME, positions him to guide the credit union into its next era of purpose-driven banking. We are confident he is the right steward to carry our mission forward.”
Sleek brings more than a decade of connection to CHROME, initially joining the credit union in 2015 as vice president and chief digital officer, when he was a part of CHROME’s rebrand and digital transformation.
For the past eight years, he has served as a volunteer member of CHROME’s board of directors.
He returns to CHROME from his role as senior vice president of lending operations at LendKey, a national fintech company serving more than 300 credit unions.
Sleek holds an MBA from Salisbury University in Maryland, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, and a certificate in financial crimes investigation from Utica College in New York.
“I’m eager to lead a team that genuinely cares about our members and shows up every day to deliver the financial solutions and exceptional service they deserve,” Sleek said. “I believe CHROME is one of the best-kept secrets in the Pittsburgh area. We offer the full capabilities of much larger institutions paired with a personal touch and commitment to member success that big banks simply cannot match. Looking ahead, we have a tremendous opportunity to share that story more widely, deepen our relationships with current members, and invite their families, friends, and neighbors to experience what makes CHROME shine.”
CHROME Federal Credit Union began in 1971 as the Washington Steel Employees’ Federal Credit Union. CHROME has grown from seven founding members into a $218 million institution serving more than 15,600 members.
