Lens on Litter photo contest announced
The Pennsylvania Resources Council Entries is seeking entries for its annual Gene Capaldi Lens on Litter Photo Contest.
The photography contest rewards amateur photographers who snap unusual or eye-catching images of litter and its effects across the commonwealth. The purpose is to bring awareness and to encourage residents to take steps to reduce litter blight.
The contest is open to Pennsylvania amateur photographers online. Entries (no more than five per person, no smaller than 4-by-6 and no larger than 8-by-10) should be sent to the Pennsylvania Resources Council, East Office, 1521 North Providence Road, Media, PA 19063. The deadline is Oct. 31.
Entries will be judged on six criteria: anti-litter message, originality, photographic technique, quality of photo, originality and severity of the litter.
A top prize of $500 will be awarded in the adult and student categories. Second-prize winners will receive $250, and $100 will be awarded for third place in each group. Additional prizes will be awarded in the new Before & After category. To qualify for this category, clean-up efforts must be registered with Keep PA Beautiful’s Pick-Up Program at https://www.keeppabeautiful.org/programs/pick-up-pa/.
All entries (including digital) must include the entrant’s name, address, email address, telephone number, photo title, location of litter site and how you learned of the contest. For student submissions, age, grade and school name also must be provided.
