Washington County man arrested as part of drug investigation
A Washington County man was arrested as part of a four-month, multi-state investigation into drug trafficking.
Archie Orison, 53, of the Burgettstown/McDonald area was taken into custody on Thursday, according to a Facebook post from county Sheriff Tony Andronas. The post did not offer details about what Orison is alleged to have done, only that he was “taken into custody for his involvement in the investigation.”
Authorities said the investigation dealt with the distribution and trafficking of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine in Jefferson County in Ohio; in the Washington County municipalities of Mount Pleasant and North Fayette townships, and McDonald; and in Robinson Township in Allegheny County.
Andronas’ post said Orison was arrested during a traffic stop on Route 18 in Burgettstown, and allegedly had crack cocaine in his possession. A second, unidentified person was taken into custody in Steubenville, Ohio, after a search warrant uncovered drugs and cash in their home.
Orison is being held in Washington County jail on a bench warrant in another case. The post indicated charges are pending in the drug case.
