Fourth of July storms hit region
Washington & Jefferson College Cameron Stadium in Washington was flooded by rain Saturday night along with several city streets. Washington was one of several areas in the region to see flooding after Saturday night’s thunderstorms, which dropped 2 to 3 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service Pittsburgh office. Saturday’s heavy rains caused the postponement of the Fourth of July fireworks show at Washington Park in Washington to Sunday night. Another rainy night could follow, with a flood watch in effect for numerous Southwestern Pennsylvania counties from 3 to 10 p.m. Sunday, including Washington and higher elevations in Fayette.
