Pittsburgh man found dead in car at welcome center on I-70
A Pittsburgh man was found dead Thursday morning while in his parked car at the Pennsylvania Welcome Center along Interstate 70 in Donegal Township.
Cecil Braun, 60, was discovered dead in his car by a tractor-trailer driver who called authorities to report the situation about 8:30 a.m., Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco said in a press release.
Warco said Braun had been living in his car at the rest stop since he had been evicted from his residence in Pittsburgh last Friday. It was not known when Braun died or how long his body had been in the car before the trucker noticed and called authorities.
Two dogs found in the vehicle with Braun were rescued by the coroner’s office, which contacted his relatives to reunite them with his family.
Warco said Braun’s death does not appear suspicious, although the cause and manner of his death are pending the results of an autopsy.
Pennsylvania State Police and the coroner’s office are investigating Braun’s death.
