Penn Highlands Mon Valley will begin demolishing its campus parking garage Monday, marking the first step of a modernization project designed to improve safety, accessibility and convenience for patients, visitors and staff. In its place, the hospital will build a new, level, paved parking lot that features safety lighting and easy access to the campus.

“Replacing the old garage with a bright, open and level parking area allows us to provide a safer, more welcoming and accessible environment from the very moment someone arrives on our campus,” said Josh LaFleur, Regional Market President – Southwest Region for Penn Highlands Healthcare.

Hospital operations, patient care and emergency services will remain fully operational throughout the demolition and construction process.

A formal ribbon-cutting and announcement will take place upon the completion of the new lot later this year.
