West Beau in Washington reopens following Courthouse Square demo
West Beau Street in Washington reopened Thursday after being closed for more than three months while crews razed the Courthouse Square building and garage. The road has been closed between Main and Franklin streets since April 6 as Washington County’s former government office building was demolished to make way for construction of the county’s new public safety building that will be built on this site. County officials opened bids Wednesday to build the public safety complex, and the commissioners are holding a special meeting at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Crossroads Center’s ground-floor meeting room to approve the construction contract.
