Peters Township’s Rolling Hills Aqua Park is closed due to a mechanical issue.

The water park, which opened last August, has been shut down because a water line came out of a filtration system in the park’s pump room, according to Dave Brooks, the township’s parks and recreation director. The water line sprayed electrical panels, damaging them.

There is not yet a specific timeline on when repairs will be made and the park will reopen, Brooks explained.

“We want to get a remedy and get this fixed as soon as possible,” he said.

Located in Rolling Hills Park in McMurray, the aqua park has a large splash pad, slides and a large bucket with the Peters Township logo on it that lets loose with water every minute. It has a toddler area, pavilion and party room.

Planning for the park started before the COVID-19 pandemic. It cost $6 million, with half the money coming from state grants.
