Peters Township to have review of comprehensive plan
Peters Township residents will be able to weigh in on the community’s draft comprehensive plan later this month.
A review of the plan is set for June 24 starting at 6 p.m. in the large instruction room at Peters Township High School. Residents will be able to talk with township officials and consultants about the plan and look at maps and exhibits related to the plan. There will also be a brief presentation.
The comprehensive plan has been in the works for more than a year, and it is meant to be a blueprint for the township’s growth for the next 10 years. Peters’ last comprehensive plan was approved in 2013. The plans are required every decade by the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.
The meeting will have a short presentation on the plan. Residents will also be given the opportunity to talk to township officials and consultants who were involved in creating the draft comprehensive plan.
The draft plan’s executive summary states that it “establishes a clear, community-supported vision to guide growth, preservation and public investment over the next decade. As Peters Township approaches full build out, the plan shifts the focus from expansion to thoughtful management of land, infrastructure services and community character.”
