Utility assistance resource fair to be held in Canonsburg
Pennsylvania American Water is hosting a Utility Assistance and Resource Fair from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Canonsburg Senior Center at 30 E. Pike St. in the borough.
The event is designed to support local customers by providing a one-stop opportunity to learn about and enroll in programs that can help reduce utility bills. More than 12,000 Pennsylvania American Water customers in Washington County may be eligible for monthly bill discounts, annual grants and assistance with past-due balances.
Customers will have the opportunity to meet directly with community organizations, utilities and local leaders to ask questions and enroll in available programs. Attendees are encouraged to bring income documentation and a recent utility bill.
Participating partners include Pennsylvania American Water, Dollar Energy Fund, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, The Salvation Army and Freedom Transit.
Pennsylvania American Water offers a variety of customer assistance programs through its H2O Help to Others Program, which offers income-eligible customers grants, bill discounts and support for past-due balances. The company also provides budget billing, payment arrangements and other customer support services.
Customers at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines qualify for assistance through the H2O Help to Others Program.
