Animal fundraiser

Mon Valley Paws will hold a dine and donate event at the Steel Plate Restaurant at 321 Schoonmaker Ave., Monessen, 3 to 8 p.m. June 29. MVP will receive a percentage of the receipts. A basket auction will be held. MVP will be accepting monetary and pet food donations. Anyone who donates will be entered into a contest for a gift card from Pet Supply Plus. Dementia support program

Everyone Knows Someone, a one-hour program on helping families living with dementia will be held at the Church of the Covenant, 267 E. Beau St, Washington, on June 30 at 5:30 p.m. The program will emphasize the support, resources and connections needed to be an effective caregiver and to keep loved ones at home as long as possible and discuss the next level of care. Hands and Hearts is hosting the program featuring Jean Royse from Presbyterian Senior Care. Refreshments will be provided. Free to attend and no registration is required.

Garden club meeting

Giant Oaks Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting on July 2 at St. David’s, 905 McMurray Road. Lunch and the meeting will be at 11:15 a.m., and a program on summer floral design will follow at 1 p.m. Steve Neubauer of Neubauer’s Flowers and Market will bring flowers and demonstrate summer designs. Guests are welcome to come to the lunch and program. The luncheon fee for guests is $6. Guests need to register by calling Barb at 412-760-4221.

New Saturday service

First United Methodist Church of Canonsburg at 161 West Pike St., is planning a new Saturday service to begin July 4. “Meet Jesus at the table” will be held on the first and third Saturdays of the month at 5 p.m. in the church’s library. Attendees will gather around the table for a relaxed worship time with food, story and fellowship. Pastor Deb Rogosky welcomes all.

Fitness classes

Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair has several fitness classes beginning the week of July 6, including barre sculpt, cardio drumming, cardio strength fusion, gentle and flow yoga, faith and fitness, Parkinson’s fitness, Pilates, drop-in morning and evening Zumba and stronger bones/better balance. Hoagie sale

Claysville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary is selling Italian hoagies for $8 each. Order deadline is July 7. Call Sandy at 724-663-4387 to order. Orders will be available for pickup between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 14 at the fire hall.

Singles club

The Association of University People welcomes singles 55+ who are four-year college graduates to join them for various activities and to meet new friends. Events include happy hour, brunches, lunches, dinners, meet-ups at live music venues and local wineries, picnics, a unique book group, day trips and Scrabble. Those interested can attend three activities as guests before deciding to join. Ducky race

Brownsville Area Revitalization Corporation (BARC) is holding its annual Ducky Race during Riverfest on Saturday, July 11, in Brownsville. The duckies will be dropped at 4:30 p.m. Ducks can be adopted by purchasing a ticket at the Flatiron Building or from any board member. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event.

Concerts in Monessen

The city of Monessen will host a Music in the Park series in the amphitheater beginning in June. The schedule is as follows:

July 11, 6-8 p.m.: Good Karma

August 22, 6-8 p.m.: Praise in the Park

September 12, 6-8 p.m.: Sky Pilot
