1 min read

Monongahela police charged a man Wednesday for allegedly assaulting another man at a bar last week.

Dwight Allen Moore Jr., 29, of North Charleroi, faces a felony charge of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor of simple assault.

According to the criminal complaint, at about 12:17 a.m. March 13, police were called to the The Drunken Hippie at 131 W. Main St.

Charging documents accuse Moore of slapping Robert Painter on the top of his head multiple times. When Moore went to leave, he allegedly grabbed Painter while in the doorway and threw him to the ground.

According to the complaint, Moore punched Painter and kicked him in the head multiple times. Police said Painter lost consciousness during the assault.

Officers arrived to find Painter on the ground outside the bar with his back against the building. Court records describe Painter as bleeding from both sides of his head and having a golf ball-sized lump above his right eyebrow. An ambulance took Painter to AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville.

There is an active warrant for Moore’s arrest.
