By Mike Jones 1 min read

A mother and her 6-year-old daughter were injured Sunday night in a single-vehicle rollover on Route 18 in Chartiers Township.

The woman was driving in the 1600 block of Henderson Avenue about 8:45 p.m. when she lost control of her car and struck a pole before rolling over, Chartiers Township police said.

The 27-year-old Washington woman, who was not identified by police, was taken by ambulance to UPMC Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh, while the girl was flown by medical helicopter to Children’s Hospital. The severity of their injuries was not released, but police said both were stable Monday afternoon.

Route 18 in the area was closed while police investigated the crash and crews removed the wreckage from the scene.

Township police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. It was not immediately known if the driver would face charges in the crash.
