Deadline for property tax, rent rebate program extended

1 min read

The deadline for the commonwealth’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) program has been extended to Dec. 31.

The deadline extension gives eligible Pennsylvanians additional time to apply for rebates on property taxes or rent paid in 2025. So far, the Department of Revenue has received 400,000 rebate applications this year. Last year, more than 500,000 seniors and people with disabilities received rebates totaling more than $315 million.

The program benefits residents who are aged 65 or older, widowers and widowers aged 50 and older and people with disabilities aged 18 and older. Eligible applicants must reapply for a rebate every year because eligibility is based on annual income and the amount paid in property taxes or rent during the prior year.

More information on the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program is available at pa.gov/ptrr.
