Brownsville man accused of filming people in bathroom

1 min read

A Brownsville man is accused of using hidden cameras to record multiple people in a bathroom.

Adam Arena, 45, is charged with nearly 160 counts, including sexual abuse of children, child pornography, invasion of privacy and criminal use of a telecommunications facility.

Charging documents said the allegations date back to June 2024, when a child discovered a camera inside a shampoo bottle in the shower.

Police traced the cameras back to Arena, according to the criminal complaint. Officers seized a cellphone, laptop, and several other electronic devices at Arena’s home. Several of the devices contained videos of the child or another victim, who was an adult, the complaint said.

Neither of the people filmed had given permission, they told police.

Arena had yet to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
