The Bradford House Historical Association is having its largest annual fundraiser Friday with the Whiskey Rebellion Dinner.

This year’s dinner at Southpointe’s Hilton Garden Inn will celebrate the national accreditation the Bradford House Museum received from the American Alliance of Museums, a distinction held by only a small percentage of American museums.

The dinner will feature what is being called the Great Whiskey Debate. It has representatives of Scotch and American whiskies, each of whom will make their case on which whiskey is better. Audience participation is encouraged and Scotch supporters are encouraged to wear kilts, while American enthusiasts should wear red, white and blue.

According to Tracie Liberatore, executive director of the Bradford House Historical Association, “The Whiskey Rebellion Dinner is always one of my favorite nights of the year, but this year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the Bradford House Museum’s national accreditation … The dinner gives us a chance to celebrate together while raising the funds that help us preserve our historic sites and provide more than 50 public programs each year.”

A reception is at 6 p.m., and dinner starts at 7. Those attending will be able to bid on a variety of silent auction items, including a whiskey bottle autographed by former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rocky Bleier, a handmade whiskey board and hard-to-find spirits.

Registration is required and seating is assigned. Physical tickets will not be distributed.
